Accessibility statement
We want everyone who visits bidwhistle.com to be able to use it.
What this statement covers
This statement covers the website at bidwhistle.com. The Bidwhistle app at app.bidwhistle.com will have its own statement.
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. That means, for example, that you should be able to:
- use the website with a keyboard alone;
- use it with a screen reader;
- zoom in to 200% without text spilling off the screen;
- pause anything that moves.
How we checked
On 25 and 26 September 2026 we tested our main pages with automated checks (Lighthouse) and went through them with a keyboard. After the changes of 26 September, the About, Contact, blog and legal pages passed every automated accessibility check; the homepage had one image link without a text description.
What is not fully accessible yet
- Some images on our homepage do not yet have text descriptions, including one that links to the Olivia page, and the homepage has no single main heading.
- Our pilot invitation at the bottom of the homepage is an image with its words written in it. The same words are on the page as text for screen readers.
- The live tender counts on the Olivia page need JavaScript to appear.
We are working through these, and we will update this statement as we fix them.
